We offer two separate pre-conference programmes: the Science Shop Summer School and the Master Class Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR). Both will be held on Monday 22 June from 09:00-17:00 and Tuesday 23 June 09:00-13:00.
On Tuesday 23 June from 13.00-17.00 we will offer some additional, skills-based workshops.
Science Shop Summer School: It has become a tradition that the Living Knowledge Conference offers a Summer School on Science Shops in the pre-conference programme. This ‘crash course’ offers an overview of different ways to facilitate research with and for society though Science Shops or similar units. It is aimed at those who are relatively new to this – or those that just want to broaden their overview. It will help you make the most out of the main conference.
Masterclass Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR): Since the previous conference in Budapest, Living Knowledge also offers a training in (Community-based) participatory research, for those interested in the research process itself. Develop an understanding of CBPR as a methodology for transformative change, learn about principles of co-creation of knowledge at each step of the research cycle and deepen insights into multiple modes of inquiry and associated research methods.
