Online Workshop Invitation: From a Real-World Soil Problem to a Research Question
We are pleased to share an interesting opportunity prepared within the LOESS project (Literacy Boost through an Operational Educational Ecosystem of Societal Actors on Soil Health), organised by the project partners at Queen’s University Belfast and Technological University Dublin.
This interactive online workshop is designed especially for higher education lecturers interested in exploring how real-world community challenges can be transformed into meaningful research questions.
Workshop theme: From a Real-World Soil Problem to a Research Question
Date & time: Friday, 3 October 2025 (2:00–3:30 pm GMT / 3:00–4:30 pm CET)
Registration: Sign up here
What to expect
Together, we will explore:
- How to frame research questions from a real soil health challenge
- Science Shop, service-learning, and Community Engaged Research and Learning (CERL) methods
- Practical and ethical aspects of community–university CERL partnerships
- Principles of collaboration and co-creation
It will be a hands-on, participatory workshop: participants will work in groups, contribute actively to discussions, and engage with cameras on to ensure a collaborative, dynamic atmosphere.
Since spaces are limited, we recommend registering promptly—enrolment will close once capacity is reached.
We warmly invite you to join, and would be grateful if you could also share this invitation with colleagues who might find it relevant. We believe this workshop will be both inspiring and valuable, and we look forward to continuing the exchange and collaboration.
